An International Adoption

photo for illustration only“Emily” and “Sarah” were very young when their birth mother placed them in the child welfare system in their home country. Over time it became evident that she was unable to care for them and they became eligible for adoption. Their adoptive parents were interested in caring for children from this particular country for a long time since they have ancestral ties there.

Awhile ago, the girls were matched with their ECFA family. At first, Emily had a hard time leaving her foster mother and her homeland. However, over time both girls have made an excellent adjustment to living with their adoptive family. They are healthy and growing. Their social worker, Joyanna, says they are well-behaved children and have become fluent in English.

“Emily is a mama’s girl and a real sweetheart,” according to Joyanna. She is kind, helpful and outgoing. She enjoys riding her bike, ice skating, playing outside, drawing, coloring and reading. “Sarah is more of a daddy’s girl and likes to sit on her adoptive father’s lap,” says Joyanna. She is a little charmer and thrives on attention. Sarah is always making friends, likes playing with Play Doh and taking pictures with her kid’s camera.

The adoptive parents say that the girls are “easy to love.” They want them to stay connected with their ethnic and cultural background, so they take them to a special school to keep up with their native language. We are so glad to see how well Emily and Sarah are doing in their adoptive home. We are also very grateful for your financial partnership so that we can continue to find loving Christian families for children in need, no matter where they are from.
