Safe Families Finds a Family
for Homeless Children
Most families look forward to Christmastime with warm and pleasurable feelings. Adults often have fond memories of holidays gone by, wonderful family traditions, and connecting once again with relatives and old friends. Children anticipate all the exciting things that go along with the season. However, some families find themselves in a period of difficulty and distress during this time of the year.
“Mike” and “Heather” are married and have a young school age child and a newborn infant. Mike was laid off his job a couple of months ago and Heather lost her job right after taking maternity leave. Facing eviction from the home they were renting, they called Safe Families for Children for help.
Carlie and Beth from ECFA were able to find host families for the children. Mike and Heather met with these families in advance in order to prepare their kids for their move. In fact, one of the host families even babysat for the children so that Mike and Heather would have time to pack.
The couple plan to live in a temporary shelter until they can get back on their feet. They are interviewing for jobs and want to save enough money to secure a suitable apartment for their family. Mike and Heather are very grateful for the help they are receiving from ECFA. Beth describes “Tommy” as a cute little boy who is a little shy. He likes to draw and write stories. “Sarah” is a darling baby who has a happy disposition, and loves to be held and talked to.
We are glad to be here to give this family the assistance they need at this critical time. We so appreciate your partnership with us as we reach out to parents and children in need, especially during the Christmas season.
