When asked about counseling, Elom states, “Counseling is a relationship that engages two individuals with one providing support and resources for the other for self-exploration and growth. It is an attempt at finding effective and practical solutions to difficult life circumstances that cause us distress. Within the structure of a non-judgmental, caring, and yet engaging therapeutic environment, choices are made to confront concerns and crises in ways that promote both fulfillment and productivity.”
