Pregnancy Support Services Helps a Single Mother

We often view spring as the season full of hope and new life. And that is how it is for many of the women being cared for through ECFA’s Pregnancy Support Services (PSS) program.
“Anna” is in her early 20’s, unmarried, and pregnant for the first time. She readily admitted to Faith, her pregnancy counselor, that she has made poor choices hanging out with drinking friends and following the lifestyle that goes along with it. However, she came to PSS for help to make much needed changes in her life.
Her baby is due soon and Anna has remained alcohol free during her pregnancy. She is aware of her shortcomings and areas of personal weakness. She is addressing these issues with Faith in counseling and is developing healthy coping skills. Anna is open to talking about spiritual matters such as God’s plan for her life, the power of prayer, and that this baby is not a mistake. She is looking to her mother and family members for support during this critical time in her life. Faith is also helping her to prepare for parenting her newborn.
Anna has experience as an office worker and plans to return to work after her baby is born. Faith says that she is really likeable. She is a hard worker, authentic, kind, engaging with others, and has a humble spirit. She is very appreciative of the gently used maternity clothes and baby items that Faith has brought to her. Faith says, “I have high hopes for Anna because she has the potential to be a great mom, employee, and friend to others.”
It is our privilege to come alongside young women who are going through an unplanned pregnancy. We want them to have the hope of knowing that God loves them and their unborn babies. We also greatly appreciate your investment in the work we do and ministry we have with expectant parents and new moms. Learn more about Pregnancy Support Services.
